With a moan, Cadeyrn rolled off of his Anamchara and leaned against the log next to
her. He untied her hands and, when she was ready, he helped her back to her feet. She
looked at him strangely but didn’t say anything as they walked back to the hot spring and
Silently, they both climbed into the pool and washed the evidence of their activities
from their skin and then climbed out and quickly brushed the water from their skin.
Cadeyrn wanted to offer to use magic to dry both of them and finish drying her clothes,
but she was acting so strangely he was afraid of how his offer might be received. He
began to wonder if he had hurt her, in spite of the Scath and her screams of pleasure, but
she wasn’t moving as if she were injured.
Once they were both dressed Cassie began to walk back to the castle and Cadeyrn
followed her. She was tired and her still-damp clothing was making her shiver. Plus she
felt very odd walking along outside in a shirt that hid nothing.
Finally she turned to Cadeyrn and asked “Did you follow me?”
Unwilling to lie to her, Cadeyrn told her the truth “Yes, I followed you.” He saw
how uncomfortable having no shirt was making her and offered her his own, which she
thanked him for and accepted after studying his face. It almost seemed like she suspected
he was mocking her, but that wasn’t his intention at all.
“You used magic to make yourself invisible, didn’t you?”
She sighed. “You didn’t trust me.”
